Integrating Individuals

As a direct result of our programmes and activities we are coming into contact with many people on an individual level and who have a vast range of needs and requirements which, for one reason or another, cannot be met by a "one size fits all" approach.    Furthermore, most of our volunteers lead busy lives and so are not always available to participate in programmes or fixed activities.   For these reasons we have begun to match up local residents with Asylum Seekers, and Refugees for the purpose of providing a one-on-one support in the areas of literacy, numeracy, IT and language acquisition,  These sessions usually take place in the client's homes at a time when is suitable for both.   We are finding that this flexible and individual response is greatly appreciated and a valuable tool in the integration of individuals and families.
