Easton Jubilee Trust is actively involved in raising achievement amongst inner city young people.

senior homework club membersThe Trust runs a Thursday evening homework club for secondary pupils and is also involved in resourcing other similar activities.

In the clubs young people have the chance to receive competent help with homework tasks as well as reviewing various aspects of the National Curriculum.

From January ’05, three EJT workers with science backgrounds have been planning and running the a GCSE Science master class, in consultation with teachers from 3 inner city schools on curriculum. They are optimistic that this will lead to improved grades and enjoyment of science by all the participants.

It is a pilot project, with hopes that it can be expanded in the next academic year, to include year 10 students also.

The kids like it, they keep on coming, even on the bank holiday!, so it looks hopeful! Hibo, a year 11 student and regular attender says: ‘it is helping me to use my personal study time better.’
